Presidents Advisory Council on Financial Capacity for Young Americans

Sherry Salway Black, NFEC Advisory Committee member and former Director of NCAI’s Partnership for Tribal Governance, was selected by former President Barack Obama to serve as the lone Native representative on the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Capability (PACFC) in 2010. Through Black’s leadership and initiative, NFEC played an instrumental role in PACFC’s formulation of its overall final report (2013) and its final report on young Americans (2015). To that end, NFEC’s Advisory Committee produced a white paper titled “Supporting the Unique Role of Tribal Government and Community Leaders to Improve Financial Capability” (see link below), which was then used to guide and inform PACFC’s development of its final reports.
